Known as “Anthali's largest museum of miniatures,” Merna's House is museum of miniatures located in Darlingtown.
Merna's house was originally just that: Merna's House. But as Merna constructed more and more dolls and houses for them to live in, she continued to build outward until the house was eclipsed by her creations on all sides.
Merna began making miniatures as Darlingtown's urban planner, she created a 1/64th scale models of downtown Darlingtown in order to envision how future public works projects would look. Her models soon moved from a tool to a hobby to a passion. Merna left her job as the urban planner and began building miniatures with all of her time. Merna's house grew from a modest 2-story home to occupying her entire country block. Neighbors would complain as her creation began to encroach on their property, but Merna simply didn't stop. As Merna gained renown, the neighbors began to embrace her project.
This all progressed until one day, Merna disappeared without a trace. At this point, Merna's house occupied 3⁄4 of what was then downtown Darlingtown. Upon her disappearance, the entirety of her creation was turned into a museum and tourist draw.
Merna would often create what would become known as “predictive miniatures” where a model she built would be be built full size somewhere else with neither party aware of the existence of the other until both of their projects were completed. In one of her few recorded interviews, when Merna was asked about this psychic gift, she replied “I simply build the project the good people of Darlingtown need. I don't decide what gets built."
Merna's body was never found, and Merna's room continues to grow at 1/64th of the rate that it once did. It is legend that Merna herself ascended and shrank to the size of her models where she now lives among the dolls, blending in perfectly whenever anyone looks her way.
