Orange Shirt Day is on September 30 to honor the children who attended the Indian Residential Schools and the hardships they faced. The idea around Orange Shirt Day is that "Every Child Matters." We will wear orange shirts in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children’s sense of self-esteem and well-being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.
