This site is dedicated to helping our students learn how to learn. Each subject is detailed with its own page, and there are other pages published to support technology infused learning, and learning contexts that extend beyond topical content based instruction.
In today's fast-paced, ever-evolving world of digital advancement, it is very important that educators help prepare students to be competent and automatic in the ways they interact with digital technology. We support students in multiple ways in this regard by providing access to digital learning devices and tools, (hardware,) and online learning resources, (software,) and teaching them how to use them safely, effectively and routinely.
Parents also play a big role in supporting their children's digital knowledge and skill set, and they do it in the same manner that teachers do; through providing access to digital tools and resources, and supporting the safe, effective and routine use of them.
Learning how to learn is very critical if students are going to reach their highest potential. Becoming self motivated and engaged in the learning process requires a degree of ownership of the learning process, and when kids understand how they learn best they are off to the races. This article touches on the concept and theme of individualized learning and the responsibility of the learner in the process. If you have any questions about helping your child "learn how to learn," please don't hesitate to reach out. We use Health class to support kid's journey into their own learning skill sets, and extend the learning throughout the curriculum.
