We are working through the Pro-Social Skill Development resource to learn essential skills in getting along well with others and achieving success in school, at home and in the community.
We are currently working on the Skill # 2 "Asking for Help."
When we struggle with our emotions and getting along with others it doesn't mean we are bad, it just means we still need to learn how to deal with the problem or lagging skill that is actually causing the problem.
Social skills are the skills we use everyday to interact and communicate with others. They include verbal and non-verbal communication, such as speech, gesture, facial expression and body language. A person has strong social skills if they have the knowledge of how to behave in social situations and understand both written and implied rules when communicating with others.
