Language Allocation Plan

language allocation plan

Definition

RCSD’s Language Allocation Plan (LAP) is a district-wide language development plan aligned with New York State Education Department (NYSED) and CR Part 154 Education Law. RCSD’s LAP should guide programmatic and curricular decisions for students acquiring academic proficiency in both their home language (L1) and new language (L2).

Purpose

RCSD’s LAP establishes clear guidance and expectations for ELL students and Never-ELLs enrolled in Bilingual Programs. RCSD currently has bilingual programming for Spanish speaking ELLs. This LAP will be used to establish policies for additional languages in the future (ie. Arabic, Nepali, etc). For programmatic direction visit the how page.
