pathways to Graduation

In order to graduate and obtain a New York State high school diploma, students should meet the following requirements:

  • Credit Requirements: Total of 22 credits

  • Examination Requirements: Passing scores on English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies, and other examinations required by chosen pathway.

  • NYS Diploma Requirements

ML Network

The Multilingual Learner (ML) Network is a network of RCSD schools with high populations of English Language Learners. The network meets for the following intended purposes:

  • Engage in reflective, district/school self-assessment

  • Gain input from all stakeholders

  • Identify areas of strength

  • Identify areas in need of short-term guidance, ongoing technical assistance, professional development, and other areas of need

Schools in the network are using all components of the New York State (NYS) English Language Learner (ELL)/Multilingual Learner (MLL) Quality Review Toolkit as a means of self-assessment.

This toolkit is designed to provide suggested processes and resources for determining a schools’ current level of implementation, school/wide practices that support the graduation college, attainment careers, and civic readiness. It is designed to be utilized by school and district leaders, RBERN, and all others charged with assessing the program quality and implementation of these areas.
