One of the benefits of Google Classroom is that work can be assigned, completed, and submitted online.
If you are creating an assignment where each student gets a copy of the attached file, make sure it is a Google file (Google Doc, Google Slides, Google Sheets...) so students can write in the file. If you have a Microsoft file or powerpoint, they will be stored as "view only" documents and can not be modified.
The following videos will show you what Google Classroom looks like from both the teacher and the student perspective. You will learn some new features in Google Docs that both you and your students can utilize for researching, editing and commenting. We will switch back to the teacher view to show how to grade and give feedback.
Google adds new features to Classroom frequently. The Whats New in Classroom page provides a description of each new feature and a link to more information on using it in Classroom. Check this page each month to see what they added.
Slides is Google's version of PowerPoint and has some similar features of SMART Notebook. It can be used alone or integrated into Google Classroom. The following videos, will show you three different ways you can use Slides: Teacher created and driven, teacher created but student manipulated and student created.
