How to Get Started:
I started by reading my class the novel, "Protectors of the Earth: Chosen". This is a novel written by me, mentioned in another section of this website, and the main problem in the novel is that there is a landfill site that could be reopened. Students learn about the problems of landfill leachate, and this STEM challenge works very well with this book!
I ordered the Landfill STEM challenge kit from Flinn Scientific Canada, and it came with all the materials needed to provide for a class of 25 students. It can be reused as well, which I plan on using again this coming year.
