Grading & Transcript Requirements for Courses Replacing a WSCA Grad Requirement
GPA & Weighting Policy:
Approved courses will be required to be added to the WSCA transcript and included in the GPA.
However, external courses do not receive weighted grade points on the WSCA GPA calculation, regardless of AP, honors, or college-level course designations.
Students will be awarded 5 credits per semester, per high school semester completed, and 10 credits per 3+ unit college course completed.
Performance Requirement:
Students must earn a grade of C or better for the course to substitute for WSCA credits.
Placement Restrictions:
Completing a summer course does not guarantee placement in an advanced or next-level course for the upcoming school year.
Substitutions rely entirely on seat availability, prioritizing standard grade-level students.
Course Equivalence & Alignment:
Replaced courses must match the equivalent content and level of the WSCA course. (e.g., AP courses can only be replaced by an approved AP or UC-transferable college course).
High school-level classes must be UC-approved (A-G); college-level classes must be UC-transferable.
Student-athletes must verify that high school-level classes are NCAA-approved.
