PREPARATON SEQUENCE
9-11TH GRADES
Each year, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy students receive a comprehensive college preparation process.
Pack time activities by grade level.

JUNIORS
In addition to pack time lessons and ELT opportunities, in the spring, juniors receive intensive lessons in AP Lit and AP USH to prepare for senior year.

SENIORS
Seniors apply to college and financial aid during the fall of their senior year.
Follow the Senior Syllabus closely for workshops, detailed guides, and all parts of the college application process.

22 California State University campuses
Same application requirements for all schools in this system (exception specific programs with portfolios).
UCs
9 University of California campuses
One centralized application.
Same application requirements for all schools in this system (except for specific programs with portfolios).
Common App
Most private & out-of-state colleges use this single centralized application
Within this centralized application, some colleges have additional or varying submission requirements.
A few colleges give the option of applying through Common App vs. their own portals
Only use this for simple applications: UNR, Boise, GCU, ASU, Oregon State
Very few private and out-of-state colleges do NOT use the Common App (MIT, Jessup). Use the application on their website.
