Arabella Aquino- 6th Grade
Dear Families,
We invite you to our annual Christmas Concert and Nativity Play on Friday, December 19th, from 12:45 to 2:15 in church.
We will kick off the event with our Nativity Play. The kindergarten students will sing interludes as the first graders tell the story of Jesus' birth.
Following the play, second through eighth grade classes will each perform a song.
The student choir may also have a piece or two to share with us.
If time allows, we will sing some songs together from our Gather hymnals.

Last year, we combined our Book Fair with VIP Day in May.
THIS year, VIP Day will remain on its scheduled day in May, while the Book Fair will occur the week of March 9th.
Look for more details as the date draws closer.

Later this week, you will see a signup link for guitar lessons at Queen of Peace.
Guitar lessons will begin in early January upon our return from Christmas Break.
In the past, we have started guitar lessons a bit earlier in the school year. However, since we have a new teacher this year (our own Mr. Robinson), we delayed things for planning purposes.
In case you are curious, our teacher for the past three years (Mr. Davidson) is taking on more duties at 3rd Street Music and no longer has room in his mid-day schedule for guitar lessons at QP.

Thank you to everyone who filled out the school safety and security survey sent out in October. We are analyzing the results and will share them in January.
A huge Viking thank you to Lt. Damon Mayer, who retired from duty a couple weeks ago after decades of service to the Butler County Sheriff's Office. Since the start of the school year, he has provided a substantial number of man hours to our campus and made us a top priority on his daily beat.
In the wake of Lt. Mayer's retirement, we will continue to have regular stop-ins and drive-bys. The unanswered question at this point is what the exact frequency will be.

We have two cookie events coming up! We normally would just refer you to the flyers for the info, but make a special point of mentioning it all here in the hopes of eliminating confusion.
The first cookie event is requesting cookie donations from all willing and able bakers. This event (see flyer) benefits the Social Justice Committee. These fine folks work the dinner line at Serve City, minister to prisoners, and make donations to local charities.
The second cookie event involves actually baking cookies at Queen of Peace. This event (see flyer) benefits the Giving Tree and Angel Tree ministries.

We have a couple of busy and blessed weeks ahead. We are all feeling privilege and thanks for the chance to share these simple joys with our students and their families.
