I'm incredibly proud of the Pt England Team and the way we've been able to serve our community throughout this time. Apart from 2 days when we were forced to close because of the surge of Omicron in Term 1, we have been open for business every day this year. The flexibility and good will of our staff along with excellent support from our Board have made this possible. Our staff have persisted in their inquiries into an engaging programme of learning that would entice children back into school and provide learning in the "Goldilocks Zone" for every learner.
We have coped with the "revolving doors" of learner attendance along with teacher availability and kept all classroom and outdoor programmes engaging and operational.
It's been absolutely wonderful to see whānau back in the school and attendance gradually heading toward pre-COVID levels.
It is a remarkable achievement that our tauira who we were able to test in term 1, had not gone backwards and a significant number had gone forwards as you will see in the charts that follow.
We conclude 2022 with a real sense of satisfaction and pride for what we've achieved as a team.
It is worthy of note in this review that during this period we have not stood down or suspended a single learner.
The movie below is a great statement of what we've been focusing on and trying to achieve in 2022.
