Year 1 & 2 testing were done as testers completed their year groups.
NB: No extra testers were employed this year.
This year will be our first year with a complete data set in HERO with at least two timepoints recorded for every child.
It was decided that for consistency the testers would enter the data which includes scanning the tests and uploading them into HERO. This makes a huge workload for the testers to process all of this and it would be a recommendation for the future to have an Admin person input the results so that this is done in a timely and consistent manner.
There were as always, many collaborative conversations between the testers along the way, that helped to ensure there was consistency and rigour in this process. The team devised a checklist to keep track of who had been tested, with teachers entering an up to date Instructional Level to support this process.
It would be ideal to be able to see this cumulative data in the form of year level graphs to sit alongside our standardised data.
It was great that we were able to test all of those children that returned to school. There was still a significant challenge in gathering this data with a number of children not having returned to school and a high level of absenteeism.
