On 6 November 2025, representatives from the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, led by Prof. Bai Yang, Prof. Hua Zhu, Dr. Maroof Ali, and their research team, visited the Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University (PSU).

The delegation was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimonsri Mittraparp-arthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Relations, and joined by Biologists led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saranya Peerakietkhajorn, Head of the Division of Biological Science.

The meeting focused on potential joint research initiatives and included knowledge sharing on the vegetation types in Songkhla Province. After the discussion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jarearnsak Sae Wai and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charan Leeratiwong took the visitors to the Faculty’s Herbarium.

This visit strengthened academic and research collaboration between XTBG and PSU, particularly in the field of tropical biodiversity.
