Beginning Monday, March 23, St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis will be adopting new restrictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the region. The new restrictions will require people to stay at home when possible, but will ensure that residents can meet their basic needs and that essential services will still be provided. After Monday, residents will still be able to perform essential tasks such as visiting a health care professional, obtaining medical supplies, obtaining supplies necessary to work from home, and picking up or delivering necessary food, services, or supplies. Outdoor exercise and going to work (where allowed) is also permitted.
St. Louis County's stay-at-home order will be in effect from 12:01 am Monday, March 23, to 11:59 pm Wednesday, April 22. View the official order for St. Louis County Here.
The City of St. Louis's stay-at-home order will be in effect from 6:00 pm Monday, March 23, to 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 22. View the official order for the City of St. Louis Here.
Parking meters located in St. Louis City will be free, and no tickets will be written through April 6. Penalties on parking tickets will be frozen through April 15. This only applies to parking meters located in and parking tickets issued in the city limits of St. Louis.
St. Louis County Circuit Courts have cancelled jury trials through April 13th. Anyone who was scheduled for jury duty needs to contact the Jury Supervisor’s Office to reschedule jury service. Please call 314-622-4457, Tuesday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Income tax payment deadlines for individual and corporate income returns with a due date of April 15, 2020, are extended until July 15, 2020. This payment relief applies to all individual income tax returns, income tax returns filed by C Corporations, and income tax returns filed by trusts or estates. The Department of Revenue will automatically provide this relief, so filers do not need to take any additional steps to qualify.
Valid Missouri driver licenses, nondriver licenses and noncommercial instruction permits with original expiration dates of March 1, 2020, through April 30, 2020, have been granted an automatic 60-day extension.
Vehicle owners with registrations (license plates) expiring in the months of March and April have been granted an automatic two-month extension and will be able to continue operating their vehicles on Missouri roadways without penalty until they can apply for renewal. Vehicle owners with license plates expiring in March 2020 will have until May 31, 2020, to renew their license plates without paying a late penalty at a license office. Similarly, vehicle owners with license plates expiring in April 2020 will have until June 30, 2020, to renew without paying a late penalty.
The time frame in which a vehicle safety and emission inspection is valid for the March and April license plate expirations will also be extended an additional 60 days.
For waiver of late registration penalty and extension of the safety and emission inspection time frame, vehicle owners must visit a license office.
Applicants for title will not be assessed a late title penalty when visiting a license office, effective immediately. This waiver will continue through April 30, 2020.
