SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357), (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.

Assessments

An assessment is an interview with a trained counselor, and we offer this service to adolescents and adults.

During the interview our skilled counselor, along with one or more standardized evaluation tools will determine:

  • Am I or my loved one dependent on alcohol or other drugs?

  • If so, what is the level of progression?

  • What, if any, treatment options are appropriate?

Because we are not a treatment provider we are not wedded to any particular form of treatment. We can give you an objective, professional evaluation and, if necessary, a number of referral options. Our counselor’s recommendations will be matched to your resources, needs and circumstances.

There is no charge. Contact a counselor at 314.962.3456 or via e-mail: tcp@ncada-stl.org.
