2-year, 5-day per week course
This is a two-year course where students will examine, in depth, the cultures of the Mandarin-speaking world via authentic texts and films in the target language. Students will strengthen their interactive, receptive and productive skills while gaining intercultural understanding. In addition, the course will discuss topics which are connected to be divided into five IB Language B themes: identities, experiences, social organization, human ingenuity, and how we share the planet. Students must earn a yearlong average of 65% or higher in Year 1 in order to move on to Year 2. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Mandarin III with a 65% or higher yearlong average.
