Songwriting I + II

Grade Level: 9 – 12

Credits: 1 Art of Elective Credit

Semester, 4-day or 5-day per week course

In this course we will cover all skills necessary to write, record and make Music and Music Videos. You will learn how to write in verse chorus and AABA songs. Various song forms and basic music literacy will also be covered. Students will use Soundtrap, Finale, Garageband, WeVideo and iMovie to document their work. Students will also learn how to write lyrics and incorporate them into songs as work with outside vocalists to realize them. This course is a prerequisite for IB Dance and IB theater.

Prerequisite: Songwriting 1 or Instructor Approval
