IB Physics SL Year 1 & 2

Grade Level: 11 - 12

Credits: 4 Physical Science or Elective Credits (2 earned in 11th; 2 earned in 12th)

2-year, 5-day per week course

International Baccalaureate Physics SL is a two year course in classical and modern physics. Problem solving, reasoning and lab investigation skills will be emphasized. The difficulty of the course is comparable to an introductory physics course at a university.IB Physics culminates in three timed , externally graded exams during the second year of the course as well an Internal Assessment, called an “Investigation”. Prerequisite: 85% or higher average in all Science and Math Classes from 9th and 10th grade. Interest in STEM major in college recommended.
