A continuation to Introduction to Fitness and Team Sports, FIT 1 Team 1 is a course that challenges students to focus specifically on strength training and yoga in the 1st semester (fall) as preparation for developing the skills necessary for Basketball and Team Handball in the 2nd semester (spring). Strength training will teach students how to create and maintain their own fitness goals with a mixture of bodyweight exercises and equipment. Students will also be able to assess their own fitness levels and decide what they feel they need to improve on. Yoga is designed to introduce students, safely and accessible, to the basic postures, breathing techniques and relation methods of yoga. Students will begin to experience the benefits of stretching, moving, and breathing freely as they relieve built up stress, learn to relax and ultimately get more out of day to day life.
