This is a theme project. A theme project means that you can respond to the prompt by creating whatever you want, with whatever materials you want. You can design your own project plan to create your piece. You must be able to explain the connection between the theme and your piece.
1. Read through the slideshow presentation below.
2. Choose the project that you want to complete. You have two options: the teacher-created project called an Atmospheric Perspective Landscape, or a self-directed project that you come up with.
3. Complete the project planning template as you map out your process. It says PROJECT in the top right corner, and PROJECT: INSIDE/OUTSIDE under your name.
4. Work through the Development of your project. This includes making your Project TImeline to plan your objectives for each studio day.
5. Gather materials for your final piece and create it.
6. Complete the rubric & reflection paper. Submit your project by keeping it in your portfolio, along with your completed rubric paper.
If you are choosing the Atmospheric Perspective Landscape, you will need the materials below.
Once you complete the Atmospheric Landscape Painting worksheet, you will need to create a 9-step value scale. You can use stencils to draw out 9 shapes, or you can free hand. This can be painted onto scrap paper, sketch paper, or onto your planning worksheet. You need to show 9 different values. Choose the values you want to use for your painting from the value scale you create.
