OBJECTIVE: Create contour drawings of your hand from close observation and develop a composition to use as a cover for your sketch binder.
STEPS:
1. Explore watercolor and spray bottle washes and create 3 colorful pieces of paper to be used as a background. (In-class activity) If you were not here for the in-class activity, you can just color 3 pieces of paper with abstract designs.
2. On blank paper, practice making contour line drawings of your hand. Try a variety of poses. Watch this video to walk you through the process.
3. Choose one of your sheets of paper to be the background for your project.
4. Flip through the slideshow for examples, instructions, and ideas.
5. Draw 4-5 hands. You can draw them directly on your background OR draw them on your other colored sheets of paper or white paper and then cut and glue them onto your background. All hands must be outlined in sharpie.
6. Put your completed hand project in the front cover of your Sketch Binder to be graded.
