Background
Our first project for the Spring Term Community Service Group was an active response to the War in Ukraine. Students were moved to create a fundraiser to support Unicef in Ukraine helping families and children caught in the middle of a military conflict with Russia.
Mambi Tsemo '22 and Tate Kuiper '22 built a website to showcase the fundraiser. Seth Anderson '23, Anders Kirkland '23, Dylan Gorman '23, and Mack Curley '22 created designs used on t-shirts and stickers to sell toward the fundraiser. The T-shirts were sold on Custom - Ink's fundraising platform.
Stickers and Bracelets were sold by the entire group during two weeks in April. This was a busy time for students as other CS volunteering efforts were going on.
Impact
We were able to raise nearly a $800 dollars in donations, t-shirt and merchandise sales within the two week campaign for UNICEF. Our donations are given in memory of Mr. Kremer, Zach Stolarek, in honor of Mr. Richards and The Pomfret Community Service Group.
