Fall 2022 Community Service Group
- LUV MICHAEL CAMPAIGN
Background
On Friday October 7, 2022 students had met with representatives of Luv Michael to setup our volunteering efforts to spread autism education awareness to our community. Students were asked to contact ten people in their families and network to let them know about what Luv Michael does and to share information and statistics about autism. One of the employee representatives was a women with Autism who told her story about gaining employment as an autistic person. It took her 7 years to find employment that was suitable for her and that Luv Michael was able to offer her a job as a "granologist", one who makes granola for Luv Michael. Students were moved by her story and began reaching out to their families and friends to donate to Luv Michael.
Luv Michael is an non-profit organization that educates people about autism and also employs autistic people to create delicious granola. Their donations through volunteer efforts pay their employees a living wage.

Winter - Spring 2021 Community Service Group

On December 8, 2021 students had met with a representative of Luv Michael to setup our volunteering efforts to spread autism education awareness to our community. Students were asked to contact ten people in their families and network to let them know about what Luv Michael does and to share information and statistics about autism.
Luv Michael is an non-profit organization that educates people about autism and also employs autistic people to create delicious granola. Their donations through volunteer efforts pay their employees a living wage.
Impact
We raised a good amount of donation money through our education efforts for Luv Michael. Each student sent text messages and emails to their contacts and in return received Presidential Volunteering Credits. We will continue to work with Luv Michael in the future.
