Clean up after Hole in the Wall Gang
Fall 2022 Gala
Background
On a cloudy Sunday, September 25th 2022 ome members of the Fall 2022 Term Community Service Group helped volunteer at the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp to clean up after a Fall Charity Gala. We arrived at the camp around 11:30pm. Students, cleared out trash from two camp centers and sleeping quarters for families. They packed dirty bedding and towels into large bags so that they can be cleaned. Students also helped put away outdoor vendor tents from the Gala.
There were college students volunteering from other universities and the students had meals shared with those students at the Camp's Dining Hall.
Students on hand that day were Hannah Park '24, Brendan Gardner '24, Maya Bullied '23, Mary-Aliya Turay '23, Cici Zeng '23, Kale Hart '23, and Patrixia Padirayon '23,
Impact
We believe that by helping to ease the burden of the limited staff at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp we can allow them to focus on helping children with illnesses and disabilites who are part of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. They raised over 10 million dollars during that Gala. We plan on volunteering in other actions and campaigns for Hole in the Wall Gang Foundation in the future.
SNOWFLAKES for CHILDREN WITH SEVERE ILLNESSES
Background
On December 1, 2021, students from our Community Service Winter 2021-22 group worked on a volunteering campaign for Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to send kids snowflakes for the holidays to let them know we care about them. Several students in the group cut large snowflakes and we shipped a box to the Hole in the Wall Gang Foundation.
