The mission of the Peer Advocates Program is to create an accepting community on campus and empower peers through peer education and support, along with student advocacy and action.
Peer Advocates attend A-period morning sessions, where curriculum-based lessons and community circles focus on social and emotional growth, and help promote our goal of fostering understanding, inclusivity and community at Foothill.
Peer Advocates support our school community through student outreach, including new student orientation & welcome, peer mentoring, ACCESS workshops, classroom presentations and more.
Peer Advocates strive to be the students on campus that you can reach out to when you need support about something specific or when you just need someone to talk to.

If you are interested in applying to be a Peer Advocate for next year, we will be accepting applications soon. See below for information and make sure you know exactly what Peer Advocates do and what the program entails before you apply. Current Peer Advocates will host several picnics on the quad lawn over the next couple of weeks to answer your questions about the program.
Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders may apply.
You must be available during A-period, as we meet during A-period every Tuesday and Thursday.
Peer Advocates can earn volunteer hours for the program, but it is not a class, and students therefore do not earn course credits. It is also not a club.
We are looking for a diverse group of students who embody the character traits we value at Foothill and would make a solid peer leader. We want students who exhibit strong leadership skills, are comfortable speaking in front of others, are kind, compassionate, responsible, trustworthy, demonstrate emotional maturity, a positive mindset and are the type of student a peer would feel comfortable talking and relating to.
Please complete the application process ONLY once you have reviewed the below information and have a clear idea about what the Peer Advocates Program IS and IS NOT.
