Sam Taylor Foundation FREE Sessions
Telehealth sessions
FREE of cost
Sam Taylor Foundation provides free telehealth sessions for teens & young adults. The young person who feels that they could benefit from counseling (for whatever reason) simply needs to send an email to info@thesamtaylorfoundation.org and state in the subject line "invite me to BetterHelp" or "invite me to therapy". They don't have to say anything further. We ask no questions and do not require any information about the reason for therapy being sought. No insurance is required.
Once the Foundation receives that email, the email address of the individual seeking therapy is dropped into a partner portal that we maintain with BetterHelp. Within minutes after the email address is dropped into the portal, the individual will receive an email from BetterHelp with the subject line "Here's your new benefit from The Sam Taylor Foundation - Professional therapy via BetterHelp". There is some information about the process and a button that says Start Today. That takes you to a short questionnaire that asks some questions about the individual to best match them with a counselor.
Once the individual is matched with a counselor (usually within a day or two) they will receive information about the counselor and the counselor's availability so that the individual can select a date and time that works. Usually people are seeing a counselor within a week and often less.
Students can be seen weekly for 12 sessions, and more sessions if needed.

Managing Stess & Anxiety for Finals
Study Tips & Strategies
My name is Abi, I am a rising senior at Foothill High School and I’m also a Girl Scout working on my Gold Award. My Gold Award is called Art Sessions to Alleviate Stress in Pre-teens. My project is about teaching pre-teens how to alleviate their stress in a positive manner using art techniques. I have created a video series that includes information regarding stress and art, they include breathing techniques to alleviate stress, an interview with a Psychologist with a BA in art, and multiple art techniques to help reduce one’s stress. The video series is targeted at pre-teens so they can learn how to handle stress healthily from a young age, but the video series applies to people of all ages. I am very passionate about mental health, so this project is very close to my heart. I hope everyone enjoys this series and I wish this series helps you find a way to alleviate your stress in a positive manner!
We are fortunate to partner with Daybreak Health as a free virtual therapy resource for students within PUSD.
Daybreak Health: Virtual therapy for students 5-19
When kids are mentally healthy, they can think clearly, pay better attention, and learn new skills. That’s why we have partnered with Daybreak Health, a school-based mental health company, to provide teletherapy to our students. Students are matched with qualified clinicians who can help them with issues such anxiety, depression, attention & focus, relationships, stress, and more.
You can submit a Care Request here for your child. The teletherapy program lasts 12 weeks and appointments are available Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Therapy session content will remain confidential.
For younger students (ages 5-9), Daybreak offers a family therapy program where you attend the sessions with your child. For older students (ages 10+), Daybreak offers a 1:1 program where your child meets individually with a clinician. For more information or to speak with a Care Coordinator email carecoordinator@daybreakhealth.com or call (415) 992-6155.
