In order to graduate from the Pleasanton Unified School District and Foothill High School, students are required to complete 20 service hours with a non-profit organization in the community. Turn in documentation of signed off hours to the basket marked “Community Service” in the Counseling Office. Hours can be submitted as soon as students complete them, during high school but are due SENIOR YEAR no later than May 1st.
Hours can be accumulated from all 4 years of high school, including those used for other courses.
NOTE: If you have not attended the Pleasanton Unified School District for all 4 years of high school, your requirement is 5 hours per year you were enrolled in a Pleasanton Unified School District high school (ex: if you joined PUSD junior year of high school, your requirement is 10 hours of community service).
Students of any grade level can use this Community Service Documentation form to record hours completed. If you have another form of documentation, that is accpetable and you do not need this form.
Need volunteer opportunities? Check out the FHS Career Center website. You do not need to get your volunteer location approved ahead of time - just make sure it is not paid, not for your parents, and not encouraging any specific religion. We encourage you to get these hours done as soon as possible - they will be listed on your transcript in Synergy once you turn them in.
