Pleasance complete the TREBLE!!!
Pleasance 1st team concluded their best ever season with a 71-56 win over Dunfermline Reign last night in the final of the Lothian Cup. Pleasance have now retained the Lothian League and Lothian Cup for the 2nd year in a row and have added the National League Division 2 title to their honours, winning promotion to Scotland's top league, National Division 1, in the process.
A huge congratulations to all of the team and a massive thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us throughout this campaign. What a season & lots more to look forward to next season.
Pleasance Pace finished in 2nd place, their best ever finish, congratulations to the Coach Bailey and the large squad for their achievement!
Pleasance 47s came 6th, after Pace beat 47s in the final game of the season.
December 2016
Strong finish to the calendar year by all 4 teams. December didn't see many games, with the season restarting on 13th January for LBA D1 team and 47s. Pace play again in the league on the 20th.
October 2016
October has seen the LBA Division 2 season ramp up with the club derby between Pace & 47s being won by Pace for only the second time. Pace also beat Fife Steel in the last 2 minutes of their third game to go 3-0.
An encouraging start for all of our teams in the 2016/17 season.
The National League 2 squad in our inaugural NL season are currently 1 and 2 having been edged in 2 tight losses. They have also won 2 impressive Scottish Cup games, meaning that Pleasance are Scottish Cup quarter finalists for the first time in many years.
In LBA Division 1 we have started our campaign to retain our championship trophy well, and are currently 2 and 1. A big capable squad gives us great potential for success again.
Pace have got off to a very impressive start under new coach Stuart Bailey, with a significant number of new recruits, and a very good 3 and 0 start to raise some eyebrows in D2 - keep the roll going guys - including last year that makes a 12/2 run at the moment. Big game for Pace on Friday against fellow unbeaten league leaders, East Lothian Peregrines.
47s have their usual enemy of tempus fugit and injury risks, but have ground out a 2/1 start, and as always their experience will be dangerous in tight games. Can they keep enough bodies on court to challenge?
September 2016
Pleasance won their Scottish Cup first round match against Heriot Watt on 28th September 70-60. Congratulations to the 1st team squad!
The LBA D1 & D2 seasons have started, as has the National League 2 season. Pleasance lost a close game in their NL2 debut but showed that they belong in the league, really positive start. Pleasance Pace & 47s both won their first games of LBA D2, where the Friday night matches are now being played at the Oriam at Heriot Watt. The 2 teams face each other on September 30th in what will be the second game of the season for both.
9th September: Pleasance won their first NL2 match with a 68-41 victory over City of Edinburgh Kings.
