Hall of Fame

Membership of the Pleasance Hall of Fame is an occasional award made to Club members who have made a sustained contribution to Pleasance Basketball Club.

Inaugural Member: Mark Benger

1984 to Present

Mark has been the Pleasance #13 for 25 years and a steady scorer over all that time having averaged double figures every year. The unnoticed part of his game is the number of rebounds at each end of the court he takes and he usually sets the tempo of the Pleasance defensive effort. He remains one of the fittest team members, a testament to the commitment he puts in away from the court. Pleasance are proud to honour Mark as our first inductee to our Hall of Fame.

2016: Scott Sanford

2006 to Present

Coach & former 1st team Point Guard, Scott Sanford, was inducted to the Pleasance Hall of Fame in 2016 after guiding the Pleasance 1st Team to their first Lothian League 1 Championship win in a very long time and also winning the Lothian Cup.

The success can be put down to the amount of hard work and preparation he did as coach. Pushing the club for more training time for the team, recruiting new players and implementing a system that has been very successful.

Since his induction he has guided the 1st team to retaining the Lothian League 1 Championship and the Lothian Cup as well as winning both National League 2 and the Playoffs in Pleasance's first season in the National League. Quite an accomplishment!
