May 2013

28th May: The 1st team played their last game of the season tonight away against West Lothian Wolves and lost.

24th May: Both Pace & 47s lost tonight. The 47's were playing their final game of the season and it all came down to the game against Lions. Whoever won this game would take 2nd place in Division 2. It was a tight game with 47s causing Lions to turn the ball over and give 47s a chance to win the game. Graeme managed to get into the lane for a layup but it rimmed out and 47s finish the season in 3rd - a great result, something to be very proud of.

The 1st team played away to Spartans on Saturday 11th May in a very tight game. Ultimately our intense team defence made the difference and after 3 tight quarters, where neither team had more than a 5 point advantage, Pleasance had a game wining run in Q4 to finish 59-44.

On Friday 17th, Pace avenged the previous week's loss against Midlothian Madness. A much better game than the 24-42 loss 7 days before saw Pace win comfortably 54-38.

April 2013

The Division 1 team had a successful night in Fife beating Dunfermline Reign 84-69. It was a tight game iced in the 4th quarter with successive 3 pointers and then 6-6 from the free throw line. A great effort.

Particular thanks to the support from Pace & 47 stars George, Kenny & Finlay who went for a combined 22 point and some great minutes, especially to Finlay whose 1st touch in Division 1 yielded a 3 point play.

Pleasance are once again competing at this year's Claymore Cup in Inverness, held on Sunday 14th April. Good luck to the team - a mix of 1st, 47's and Pace players.

On Friday 12th April, Pace & 47's lost their matches by a combined 6 points. Pace had been beating Blaze A for the entire match until the final 33 seconds. Here are some highlights.

March 2013

On Friday Pleasance 47s played Pleasance Pace in Division 2. After a strong run in the 3rd quarter Pace were up by 9, but an effective zone press by 47s saw them claw back the lead to win 37-32. Some highlights below.

The 1st team lost their last 2 matches against Edinburgh Kings & Heriot Watt but look to getting back to winning ways this Wednesday at Forrester High school against Boroughmuir Blaze. There is training for everyone else in the other hall, 8pm-10pm. Here are some highlights from the game against Heriot Watt.

February 2013

The 1st team beat Prestige 70-31 on Sunday 24th too cap another good week for Pleasance. On Friday Pace won a great game against D2's 2nd top team, Lions A 42-40. It was also Vitalij's last game for Pace. Pleasance Pace have now won 5 of the last 6 leagues matches and equaled last season's win total of 6.

21/2/13: Pleasance 1st team won very comfortably the 2nd game of their double-header against Gracemount with a 119-20 win at Forrester High School.

8/2/13: 3 wins for the Pleasance 3 teams this week! On Wednesday the 1st team beat Gracemount 95-60 and on Friday the 47's beat Midlothian Madness 51-31 followed by Pace beating Dunfermline Steel 56-26. Great week for all the teams.

February opened with 2 games for Pleasance. The 1st team lost by 10 in the Chairman's Cup to Perth Phoenix 87-77, with 4 Pleasance players fouling out & coach Geoff having to step in and play. In Division 2, Pace won their 3rd in the last 4 league matches, beating the Currie Buccaneers 49-34.

March 2013

30/1/13: Pace played Spartans in the 2nd round of the Lothian Cup at Forrester High School. After keeping it close in the 1st half, a depleted Pace squad succumed to the relentless press of Spartans. Thanks to Mark who helped out on Point duties and to those that did the table and came down to support.

28/1/13: Friday saw Pleasance 47s win against West Lothian Wolves 38-30 while Pace came from behind to take their game with Tigers into overtime, loosing a close game by 4 points.

First game of the year got off to a great start with Pleasance Pace beating Boroughmuir Masters 50-39. Pace controlled the game and deserved the win. the 47s game was cancelled so they were awarded a 20-0 win.

December 2012

December Derby Day was won by the Pleasance first team. A very close game with the 1st team up by 6 with a couple of minutes to play before Vitalij stepped up & hit 2 back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game, however the 1st team prevailed by 3.

The Pleasance Christmas night out was a success. 16 members turned up for drinks at Dirty Dicks on Rose Street, dinner at Pizza Express in the West End and back for more booze at Dirty Dicks. Merry Christmas everyone!

Last Friday Pleasance Division 2 teams won - 47s beat Leith & Pace beat Wolves. Both very good results.

November 2012

The final week of November saw the 1sts lose to West Lothian Wolves 35-65 on Wednesday 29th, Pace lose in a close game to Boroughmuir Blaze A and Pleasance 1st team lose against Boroughmuir Blaze 1st team on Sunday 25th November. Let's hope the 47s can finish November with a win against Dunfermline Steel on Friday 30th.

Pleasance 1st team won at home on 13th November with a 63-52 win over Dunfermline Reign but both Pace & 47s lost their Friday night games on the 16th.

Pleasance Division 2 derby match on 2nd November ended with the 47s beating Pace 49-28 and a few beers at The Baillie in Stockbridge after the game.

October 2012

24th October - Today the all new Pleasance Pace home and away uniforms arrived! This is the first time we have used Kukri for strips and the quality of uniforms seems excellent.

October has seen Division 1 get under way for the 1st team who produced a convincing display to comfortably beat Heriot Watt University. October has brought a win & loss for the 47s and 2 losses for Pace.

September 2012

30th: Pace lost on Friday to Dunfermline Steel 34-35. A very close match with Pace winning the whole game but losing to the last bucket of the match.

24/9: Pleasance 1sts lost their opening game on Saturday in the Cup against the Granite City Grizzles 88-43 and the 47's lost on Friday to Midlothian Madness. Pace & 47s have now won 1 and lost 1 in Division 2. Division 1 is still to start for Pleasance.
