2015/16

Here are the final LBA Division 1 & 2 Standings for the season 2015/16.

PLEASANCE WIN THE LOTHIAN CUP!

To add to our Division 1 Championship win, Pleasance won a hard fought game against Dunfermline Reign in the Lothian Cup Final yesterday.

In a hard-fought tight game on Reign's home court, Pleasance always led from the start, but never by more than 8 points. In a tense final quarter, both teams had runs of points, and the scores stayed tight.Eventually 2 late 3s, some tight D and a collective determination to take home the Trophy sealed the deal 56-50 to Pleasance. Commiserations to our friends at Reign, who played a very good game in an excellent spirit.

A large and very vociferous Pleasance support were delighted to give the players a hugely deserved standing ovation at the end and to enjoy seeing our boys presented with the Lothian Cup, and Lothian League Championship trophies.

Pleasance are now Lothian Basketball Association League 1 Champions! This is a huge achievement and is a result of a lot of hard work by Coach Sanford and all his players. Huge congratulations to the team

The 47s are in the Semi-Final of the Lothian Cup on Wednesday 9th March. They play a strong Dunfermline Reign team at Forrester High School, 7.45pm – come along and show your support!

Pleasance 1st team had an opportunity on Saturday to win LBA Division 1 but unfortunately lost a close game to Spartans which also ended their winning streak. Hopefully the team will tie up the league soon.

January 2016

Pleasance First Team extended their undefeated streak in the Lothian League last night, with a 69-56 victory over Dunfermline Reign. The win came on the back of an intense defensive effort by the whole team. Lead by Scott Farkas, with 15 points and 6 steals, the team constricted Reigns offence and force the outside out. However the visitors did make a game of it with a surge early in the last quarter, but the team managed to hold their nerve and seal the game with some transitions buckets. Go Pleasance!

The second round of the Lothian Cup brought good performances but ultimately mixed results for the three Pleasance teams

The Division 1 squad played out a one-sided exchange with D2's Peregrine Falcons, and ultimately ran out comfortable winners 94-38, with heavy scoring and contributions from across the team

Pace had a hard fought defeat against Division 1's Edinburgh Tigers, and whilst holding them in 3 Quarters, Q2 turnovers ultimately resulted in a 75-59 defeat. However, there were many positives to take from the game which will stand Pace in very good stead in a tough upcoming league programme - and we left with optimism that the current league 6-0 run will continue

47s had what looked like a potential banana skin against winless West Lothian Wolves. However, in spite of illness and injuries (and caution due to upcoming skiing trips!) 47s ran out with a 49-45 win - although Wolves had a major recovery late recovery, scoring 8 in the last minute to tighten the game.

Pleasance D1 team now face Soldier Bears and 47s face Fife or Gracemount Panthers in their respective Quarter Finals - here's hoping for two semi finals appearances from our teams

November 2015

We are are mid November and the season has started well for all 3 of the Pleasance teams. Our 1st team have a perfect record of 3-0 and are top of LBA Division 1, with the most recent victory one over Pentland Tigers 69-63.

In LBA Division 2 Pleasance 47s are sitting pretty in 2nd spot with a fantastic 7-1 record and Pace are in 3rd with a 3-4 record. Great to see all 3 teams doing so well.

October 2015

The 47s continued their great run with a win over the LBA D2 rivals and club friends Pace. As has been the pattern with the last few games between these 2 teams, Pace held the lead most of the match only for the 47s to use all their experience and pull it out in the 4th quarter.

September 2015

Friday 25th September saw both the 47s and Pace in action in LBA D2, with both teams getting hard fought victories.
