Planify recognizes the importance of family and work-life balance. This Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy outlines the provisions for employees in India to take maternity and paternity leave, ensuring their well-being and supporting their responsibilities as parents.
All regular full-time employees, in respect of their gender or marital status, are eligible for maternity and paternity leave under this policy.
Maternity Leave
Female employees are entitled to a maximum of 26 weeks of paid maternity leave.
This leave can be taken before a week of childbirth or after childbirth.
The employee will receive full pay during the maternity leave period.
In cases of a miscarriage or medical termination, the employee will be entitled to 1 week of paid leave from the date of the miscarriage or medical termination.
The employee needs to submit proof of abortion and the reason for the medical termination.
Advance Notice
Employees are required to inform the company within the first 3 months of conceiving before proceeding on maternity leave.
Documentation
The employee must provide medical certificates and any other documentation as required by the company to avail of maternity leave benefits.
Paternity Leave
Male employees are entitled to 2 weeks of paid paternity leave.
This leave can be availed within 6 weeks from the date of childbirth.
The employee will receive full pay during the paternity leave period.
Advance Notice
Employees are required to provide at least 2 months prior notice before proceeding on paternity leave.
Documentation
The employee may be required to provide documentation, such as the child's birth certificate or other relevant documents, to avail of paternity leave benefits.
Adoption Leave
Employees who adopt a child below the age of three are eligible for adoption Leave.
For Mother - Mothers are entitled to 1 month of leave after the adoption of the child.
For Father - Fathers are entitled to 1 week of leave after the adoption of the child.
Advance Notice
Employees are required to provide at least 1-month prior notice before proceeding on adoption leave.
Documentation
Employees may be required to provide necessary documentation, such as adoption papers or legal documentation, to confirm their eligibility for adoption leave.
Flexibility
Employees may choose to take their maternity or paternity leave in a continuous manner or separate periods with the prior approval of their supervisor and HR.
In case of complications or any unforeseen circumstances, employees may request an extension of their leave. Such requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Job Security
During their leave period, employees will be protected from any adverse employment actions, including termination, due to their absence.
Employees will have the right to return to their same position or an equivalent position with the same terms and conditions of employment upon their return from maternity or paternity leave.
Confidentiality
The company is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of employees' pregnancy and paternity status. Information related to an employee's maternity or paternity leave will not be disclosed without the employee's consent.
Employees should communicate their expected date of return to work as soon as it is known, allowing the company to make necessary arrangements.
Appraisal
Employees who take leaves would be eligible for appraisal based on their last-year rating or their half-yearly review accordingly.
