The Grading Categories

Grading: Your grade will be based on what you are able to do with the language. It is a performance-based grade designed to make certain that you are able to use the language in meaningful ways beyond the classroom. Your grade will be calculated in the following way:


25%: In-class practice activities / Learning Checks

In- class activities (reading/ listening and practice) count in this category. These activities might include worksheets, short quizzes over the material or digital activities like quizlet or gimkit.

25%: Interpretative Reading / Listening Assessments

This category is a measure of how well you understand written and oral texts on your own.

25%: Interpersonal Speaking Assessments

This category is a measure of how well you speak in the target language.

25%: Presentational (Writing Assessments)

This category is a measure of your writing performances during and at the end of the unit.
