We're learning about the culture and people of the Spanish-speaking world

Other Resources

Authentic resources are important.

In class, we also utilize authentic resources (materials designed by native speakers for native speakers) to help us acquire Spanish. These authentic resources allow us to learn about the culture and people of the Spanish-speaking world.

Authentic music is a fun way to explore culture.

We study authentic Spanish music (Alvaro Soler, Shakira, Nicky Jam, ChocQuib Town) when we participate in Locura de marzo (March madness) music competition. This fun-month long event introduces us to different genres of music and enables us to practice expressing preferences in the target language.

We have other sources of authentic culture.

Additionally, we use short films, infographics, blog posts, magazine articles, and radio reports to build our comprehension of Spanish and to explore Spanish-speaking countries.
