By striking a balance between leadership, accomplishment, service, and integrity, I think I exemplify the principles of the Medal of Esteem. Character-wise, I've always tried to act morally, whether it's through my participation in FCA, where my morals and beliefs direct my behavior, or in my day-to-day decisions, such as making sure everyone was taken into account when organizing teacher dinners for the PTA. Years of voluntary work with the Piper Educational Foundation, from organizing trivia evenings and auctions to mentoring young athletes in baseball and basketball, demonstrate my dedication to service. I now understand the value of supporting the next generation, giving back to the community, and fostering community. I've always strived for success, and I've worked hard to obtain several varsity letters in five different sports, including basketball, bowling, football, and track. I learned self-control, cooperation, and the importance of stepping outside of my comfort zone from each sport. I've been a student leader in STUCO for seven years, representing my peers and assisting in the planning of school activities. I've tried my hardest to have a positive influence, encourage people, and embody the ideals that the Medal of Esteem represents, whether I'm coaching on the field or organizing a school fundraiser.Â
