I embody the ideals of the Metal of Esteem as I have remained true to my morals, showed generosity to and throughout my community, worked hard to achieve my goals, and displayed my leadership qualities all throughout the last four years. For my character, I have always been very sure of myself, and I have stayed strong in what I believe in, letting it be known through my words, actions, and overall how I carry myself. I have shown service through organizations like the Girl Scouts of NE, KS, and MO, Piper Show Choirs, and Job's Daughters International but also through individual will as in the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, The Children's Mercy RISE Project, and The Turning Point KC. Through my service to others, I have learned a great deal about gratitude, hardship, and perseverance. The people I have helped inspire me daily to appreciate the little things and to push through the difficult times so I may meet the truly joyful ones. Throughout my time here I have achieved an academic letter for 6 semesters, a varsity letter in theater, and a varsity letter for choir, two years running. I am very proud of what I have achieved here at Piper High School, and am so incredibly grateful to the staff, past and present, who have worked so that I may have opportunities like these. And finally, I have displayed leadership in almost all of the organizations I have been in, primarily focused on out-of-school organizations. Some of my positions have been: Honored Queen for Job's Daughters International, KS State HIKE Coordinator (Internationally acclaimed charity), Girl Scout Camp Counselor, and Veteran Show Choir Member. Although not all of my positions are recognized, whenever I see a leadership opportunity, no matter how big or small, I take it. My leadership roles over the years have helped me develop my independence, team coordination, communication, and empathy skills. To conclude, I see this as an amazing opportunity to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and impact I hope I have made on the school.Â
