The Occupational and Physical Therapy related-services department of Piedmont Public Schools has been working hard in the district to help shine a light on our student's individual talents and learning styles to promote functional independence in the classroom setting. Here's a look at some of the awesome things going on in the district with our therapists who want to help their students shine!
Marie, Vonda, Amanda, and Skylar, four related service providers here at Piedmont Public Schools, have been announced as part of the Grant Recipient Winners from this year's Piedmont Public Schools Education Foundation!
These related service providers go above and beyond for their students every day. They are passionate about helping their students reach their full potential, and they are always looking for ways to improve their services. These therapists teamed up with their teachers to purchase new and innovative materials that will help their students learn and grow.
The grant was awarded by the Piedmont Public Schools Education Foundation & the Carrie Attalla Memorial Fund which was able to fulfill 40 grants for 70 teachers and staff members in the district this school year. The organization was impressed by the dedication and commitment of Marie, Vonda, Amanda, and Skylar, and they are confident that the grant money will be used to make a real difference in the lives of their students.
We may be a small school system but we like to think of our community as large. Our students at Piedmont Elementary School have taken the time to write thank you notes to the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) and the National Non-Profit Donor Choose Organization, which helped fund adaptive supplies (adaptive scissors, pencil grips, adaptive paper...etc) for our Occupational Therapy Department. We wanted to share these notes with you that show the gratitude our students have for their help.
