For a fun kinesthetic learning approach, try making your pre-writing strokes or letters with playdough, wikki stix, small beads, or any available small manipulatives 1st before practicing your writing skills with pencil and paper. Students benefit from the extra tactile sensory input from manipulating small items as well as increasing those fine motor skills while reinforcing proper line/letter formation.
When practicing writing, refer to the Handwriting Without Tears 'verbal prompts chart' for additional auditory learning.
