Addition and subtraction fact fluency is very important for the success of your child in math. Each grade level participates in our Panther Math at least 3 days a week within their classrooms. Students are given 1 minute to complete a specific set of math problems. As they pass each set they will move to the next level. Kindergarten’s goal is to have students fluently adding and subtracting within 5 by the end of the year. First Grade’s goal is to have students adding and subtracting fluently within 10 by the end of the year. Second grade’s goal is to have students successfully adding and subtraction fluently within 20 by the end of the year. These math skills are the foundations for all other math your child will experience throughout their educational journey. Each grade has set benchmarks for each 9 weeks. Your child’s teacher will report your student’s progress on Panther Math regularly. We ask that you please review this information as it comes home and encourage your child in his/her progress.Â
If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher.

If your first grade kiddo needs further remediation or acceleration you can continue working on Panther Math using the documents below. When working to remediate using kindergarten resources begin at the level that best represents your kiddo's current ability. No need to start from level 1.Â
