SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Valued Stakeholders,

To say the last few years have been challenging for our community would be an understatement. To this day, we continue to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in 2018. Families remain displaced. Repairs to homes and businesses are ongoing. Lives continue to be put back together.

Then, COVID-19 happened.

Since March 2020, education has been anything but traditional. Between virtual learning, social distancing, masks and numerous other safety protocols, our schools, students, staff and community have grappled with ongoing changes.

As the Pre-K through Grade 13 population surpasses 10,000, we are proud of the work being done by our teachers, administrators and other staff members in Pender County. Throughout our 19 school sites, we continue to set a high standard in our state. And, with your help, we will keep doing just that.

We are ever grateful for the support of our families and community members. Without you, PCS would not have gotten through the last few years. We cannot encourage you enough to continue supporting your students’ local school. It makes all the difference.

If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to speak with your school-site administrators. Together, we can continue to make Pender County Schools a beacon of educational excellence in North Carolina.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven Hill

Superintendent
