There are 5 types of Sapsasa events:
District Carnivals – Year 5 and 6 students only
a school team(s) compete against other schools in our district during the school day – like an excursion
Our school will take as many teams as we have interested students
Add your name to the list and go to the advertised meetings and trainings
Statewide Carnival Competitions – Year 5 and 6 students only
The school only gets one, strongest, team
Trials are held to select our strongest team to compete against other schools until we are knocked out of the competition.

Age based Carnivals – for Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country
Swimming – open to any competitive swimmer turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31)
Sign up and give your lap times to be selected for our single school team to swim against other schools in our district.
If you win a race you will be invited to the State Championships to swim for Tea Tree Gully district against other districts
Athletics – Open to students turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31)
Places on the team will be awarded after our Sports Day to choose our single strongest team to compete against other schools in our district.
If you win an event you may be invited to compete for the Tea Tree Gully district at the State Championships against other districts.
Cross Country - Open to students turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31) who can run the required distance and show proof of training – usually limited to 10 students per age group and gender
Sign up and train to be selected for our single school team to run against other schools in our district.
The top 6 runners in each race will be invited to the State Championships to run for Tea Tree Gully district against other districts at Oakbank Racecourse
Out of school hours training may be offered
District Team Trials – Year 5 and 6 students only
After school trials held at different venues around the Tea Tree Gully area
Parents must take you to and from the trials
You must nominate online to be able to trial
Trial information and dates will be advertised on the student notices and on Skoolbag when they are announced.
You must be able to play the sport at a competitive level (know the rules, have experience in a competitive setting) to be able to trial.
The strongest ONE team from all 19 Tea Tree Gully Schools is selected for each sport – the calendar of events is on TeamApp and Skoolbag and below
State Carnivals and Championships – Selected Year 5 and 6 or 10, 11 or 12 year olds
Attend trials above or get selected from a district carnival to compete for the Tea Tree Gully district against other districts
Parents/Caregivers need to take you to the event days during school hours
Parent/Caregivers will need to take you to trials and trainings leading up to the carnival
There is a cost if selected in the team
Approx $100 for team sports
Approx $15 for individual sports
