SAPSASA School Carnivals

Students from Year 4-6 will have the opportunity to participate in SAPSASA school carnivals. Trials will be held for students who wish to compete in the carnivals and students who finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd will be selected for the final team.
*In events where there are multiple heats, the top 3 students will be selected based on their final results (time, distance, etc).

The number of students selected for each event will vary depending on the requirements for the specific carnival. Selection of relay teams is at the discretion of the Director of Sport and other organising teachers. In extenuating circumstances the Director of Sport will determine whether a student is eligible to participate based on previous experience and results.

SAPSASA District Teams

Interested students are required to nominate themselves for a position and trial for the team. Students and parents will be notified of the trial dates 2 weeks in advance by email and on the extra curricular website.

SAPSASA District teams represent the Tea Tree Gully Zone, selections are based on the skills, performance and attitude demonstrated by students during the trial sessions. To be selected for a SAPSASA Tea Tree Gully District team, students must attend at least one trial to be considered for a position in a team. Final decisions on team selection are made by the district coach and convenor. The number of students selected depends on the team numbers permitted in competition.

Note - SAPSASA District Teams are organised by the Tea Tree Gully Convenor not the College. Transport for these events is to be arranged by individual families.

Statewide Schools Competition (Formerly Knockout Sport)

School Sport South Australia coordinates the Statewide Schools Sports Competition (Year 6-12) for a range of sports throughout the year. Schools play each other in one-off matches with the winning team progressing to the next round. Depending on staff availability, student interest and timing of other school activities, Pedare may choose to enter teams into any of the Statewide School Sports Competition. Selection is based on current participation in Pedare’s Extra Curricular program, prior experience and where there is high interest, one off trials; where the team will be selected by the Coach and Director of Sport.

Carnivals (Athletics, Swimming, Cross Country, etc)

At the conclusion of the Pedare Christian College Carnivals, students who have qualified to represent the college at the Interschool Carnival are identified. In most circumstances, students who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the College Carnival event are selected to represent the College, however, students must also meet qualifying times and/or distances to participate at the Interschool Carnival.  Selection of relay teams is at the discretion of the Director of Sport and other organising teachers. In extenuating circumstances the Director of Sport will determine whether a student is eligible to participate based on previous experience and results.
