Students choose whether to pursue a Bachelor of Science in CCJ or a Bachelor of Arts in CCJ.
In order to earn the Bachelor of Science (B.S.), students must complete the following:
3 cr in college-level Mathematics / Statistics
10 cr in Science, including at least 6 Lab Science credits consisting of 2 Lab Science courses
10 cr in Social Science and/or Arts and Letters
For the B.S. Math Requirement, students need at least 3 cr in college-level Mathematics / Statistics. PSU's college-level classes have prerequisites: In order to register for one of these, you need to either have MTH 095 Intermediate Algebra or equivalent with C- or above or pass our placement exam at the necessary level within the last year.

For the B.S. Science Requirement, students need a minimum of 10 cr in Science, including at least 6 Lab Science credits consisting of 2 Lab Science courses.
The Science academic distribution area consists of PSU or transferred courses from the following: Anthropology*, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science & Management, Geography*, Geology, Physics, Science, Speech & Hearing Science*, Systems Science*
* Certain classes only – may depend upon catalog year
Lab Science classes are courses within the Science distribution area that have an explicit indication of lab or field work as part of their catalog description. Some classes have the lecture & lab work separated out into two corresponding sections that go together and others have this combined into one class.
For the B.S. Social Science / Arts and Letters Requirement, CCJ major courses will take care of this.
In order to satisfy the Bachelor of Science Requirements, applicable classes are available online at PSU, but are not managed by the CCJ Online program. Tuition will be higher for non-Oregon residents. Students are responsible for finding applicable classes using the PSU Schedule of Classes. Courses taken at community colleges may also be transferrable. If you plan to complete these requirements through another school, you MUST check with your Academic Advisor in advance when you find a class that interests you in order to receive verification that the class will transfer okay and work for PSU's requirement.
