Taking Classes Outside of CCJO
In order to complete your bachelor's degree (depending on your transfer credit), it may be necessary for you to complete some PSU classes outside of CCJO. There are some important differences to be aware of when you register for non-CCJO courses. Let's start with some definitions:
A CCJO course is a fully online course offered only to fully admitted CCJO students. These courses are only found in the CCJO Registration Guide you receive via your PSU email every term.
A regular PSU course means any class that’s not offered by CCJO. This includes fully online courses from all departments. Courses offered by CCJ’s campus program, even those offered online, are regular PSU courses.
CCJO Courses vs. Regular PSU Courses
CCJ Online courses cannot be found by searching in the regular PSU Class Schedule or the Schedule Planner. They are not published because they are reserved only for CCJO students. CCJO courses are only listed in the CCJO Registration Guides that we send direct to each CCJO student's PSU email each term.
Only regular PSU courses are published in the PSU Class Schedule and the Schedule Planner. CCJO students are welcome to register for regular PSU courses, but there are some differences to note:
While CCJO students are guaranteed a "seat" in any CCJO course, regular PSU courses have limited capacity and tend to fill quickly.
Regular PSU courses do not have course facilitators and CCJO tech support is not available for regular PSU courses.
CCJO courses do not include the Incidental or Health Services fees. Therefore, if you register for only CCJO courses, you are not eligible to use the services supported by those fees.
CCJO students will be charged standard PSU tuition & fees when they register for any regular PSU courses. Standard PSU tuition is based upon Oregon residency status. If you are classified as a Non-Resident, you will be charged a significantly higher amount.

CCJO courses do not count towards the enrollment level requirements necessary to maintain eligibility for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program.
If a CCJO student registers for 5 or more credits in regular PSU course(s) in a single term, PSU's Student Health Insurance Requirement will be activated. The requirement states that students must purchase health insurance through PSU or show proof that they already possess health insurance. These students will be charged the $1,256 Student Health Insurance Premium Fee or they may request a waiver if they already have their own insurance. There are deadlines associated with requesting a waiver.
Unlike regular PSU courses, CCJO courses do not count towards the PSU Student Health Insurance Requirement qualification.
This means when you are taking only CCJO courses, you will not pay the Student Health Insurance Premium Fee and are not required to show proof of insurance.
