All entrants will design the Teaching & Innovation Farm Lab. Graduate students and professionals will also design housing for farm students on the site.
Key aspects of this project include responding to the challenges of equity and resilience through the design solution.

No deadline; funding is limited, and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students must fill out an application (only fields highlighted in yellow on the form below), which must be submitted by email to architecture@pdx.edu. It will take a minimum of 10 business days for the form to be reviewed. Regardless of the outcome (funding or decline), applicants will receive an email notification with the results.
Students should provide the requested amount of funding it would take to ease their current burden, not exceeding $500. Applicants should be aware that most students receiving Hardship Funding from PSU are usually awarded $50 - $200 per person. The urgency and level of need beyond $500 can be expressed in the essay portions on the second page.
PSU Foundation requires "true" signatures on forms, so the Student Signature and Date Signed fields on the second page need to be in "handwriting," not typed. You can print the form, sign it, and attach a scan to your submission email. If you have design software, you can use a touchscreen, stylus, or mouse to "sign" a signature and date. DO NOT SEND PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE APPLICATION.
Incomplete forms will be returned to the student for correction.
These funds may be eligible for U.S. taxation based on a student's status (resident or international) and income. Students who receive funding will be given more information regarding required tax forms. Those students will also be required to provide a short Thank You note (email) and a work sample (link or digital file from a 2022-2023 ARCH class) for the donors who made this funding possible.

This website can help students find funding for group projects or give inspiration on future opportunities.

LEED is simply a sustainability scorecard for green buildings. As buildings can become LEED Certified, people can become LEED accredited! The best way to break into the sustainability space is to attain the LEED Green Associate. It also shows employers and clients you have certified knowledge in the field. Since the LEED GA exam doesn’t have a stellar pass rate, the value of the extra letters behind your name will carry even more weight.
My workshops have helped nearly 10K students and professionals learn the material cold (important for interview prep) AND clear the exam with a very high passing rate. The LEED Professional Designation has helped past participants attain internships and jobs, and now is a great time to add this credential.
