Graduation and Commencement

Apply to for a Degree (to Graduate)

It is each student's responsibility to meet with a College of the Arts advisor or School of Architecture full-time faculty member PRIOR to applying for a degree to be advised about what requirements remain to be satisfied and to have any course substitutions entered into your record. Students must present their advisor with their DARS printout at their advising session. See Advising & DARS section for information on DARS reviews.

Undergraduate and Graduate students should visit the PSU Office of the Registrar website for the most current information and procedures on how to apply for a degree.

For undergraduate students, this application needs to be submitted two terms before the intended graduation date. For graduate students, this application must be submitted one term before the intended graduation date. Look at How to Apply for a Degree for information on how to submit an application.

Please note that general University degree requirements are checked by the Office of Degree Requirements. School requirements for a Major in Architecture will be checked and approved by the School of Architecture.

Apply to Participate in Commencement

It is each student's responsibility to monitor Commencement deadlines and ticketing information. Undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in Architecture are eligible to participate in the College of the Arts ceremony. There is no separate School of Architecture ceremony. Commencement ceremony dates, times, and locations change from year to year. Please see the official PSU Commencement website for current information.

Due to FERPA regulations, Architecture staff cannot assist students' friends or families with Commencement arrangements or advice, as it is School policy not to acknowledge which students participate in our degree programs without their permission. Students are responsible for communicating Commencement information with their community.
