FM (Frequency Modulation) or RM (Remote Microphone) systems are amplification devices that transmit a speaker's voice directly to a receiver that is attached to a hearing aid or cochlear implant, or to a receiver in a soundfield system for students who do not wear amplification devices on their ears. In an educational environment, the purpose of the system is to provide a student with proper access to the teacher's instruction or the voices of other speakers in the room. The system allows the student to hear a speaker's voice above any other noises happening within the classroom.
If your student uses an FM or RM system it will look like one of these. Click on the system that your student uses to find specific tips for using each transmitter.
