Within your first two weeks at Patch, you'll be invited to a handful of topic-specific deep dive lessons, led by subject-matter experts on the Editorial team. 

• Breaking News Protocol: Patch follows a very specific breaking news protocol designed to maximize speed, optimize search, and ensure timely distribution of the news to our readers. Breaking news editor Megan VerHelst leads this session. Here is the one-sheet recapping the session.

• Social Media Best Practices: The social media system at Patch includes a Facebook page and X account for every Patch, Instagram and TikTok for select Patches, our automation and optimization system called SocialFlow, and Facebook Business Manager. • Photo: Though you learned the basics of our photo systems in your Day 1 launch training — WebDAM, photo agencies and copyright — our photo team will provide an intensive dive into all of these and more. Photo Chief David Allen will host this session. Here is the one-sheet recapping the session.
