Patch 'Pacing Doc'
Patch 'Pacing Doc'
The General Page View Pacing report is updated daily and lives within the Edit Dashboard. This is the master tracker for page views by site, by editorial beat, by state, and by team. The "pacing doc" records all PVs tallied on each site regardless of who generates them.
Sometimes, local editors wonder why page views for a big story aren't reflected in their beat numbers. Most likely, the story was published on a Patch town that isn't assigned to that local editor. The pacing doc records all page views by town, not by user account.
It's also important to note that when an article is pinned to multiple Patches or into multiple email newsletters (or breaking emails or Nearby News emails), that the page views go to the Patch town where the email is received — not exclusively to the town where the article was created.
Each page in the General PV Pacing report lists the goal, the PVs from onsite (non-AMP), the PVs from AMP (which are accelerated mobile pages on Google), the total PVs, and the percentage pacing toward an editor's goal. The data is presented by day and by month-to-date (MTD).
There are pages sorted by team, by individual editor and beat, by state, and a full Patch-by-Patch summary.
